A Very Merry Unbirthday

Wed Jan 28, 2009, 5:11 PM
  • Mood: Noble
  • Listening to: Whistling kettles
  • Reading: Phantasmagoria, in Seven Cantos
  • Playing: Chess and out of breath for all the running!
  • Eating: Cake
Why is it an unbirthday you ask (but most likely not)?
Because dear snarklings, I didn't get a chance to bake Lewis Carrolls' cake yesterday and birthdays only come when CAEK is present. So, it held off pouting in the corner until today when I was able to coax said day with strawberry cake and pink icing and rainbow sprinkles. May your 177th birthday be Jaberwocky free dear Charles!

So m'dears...

  • Mood: Humor
  • Listening to: Sympathy for the Devil (Guns N' Roses version)
  • Reading: I, Lucifer by Glen Duncan
As you can very well see I finally got my lazy arse to put up more artwork. Just I recently got a note (ooh, fanmail!...no, wait-!) about my doing practically nothing but fanwork. I must admit I don't see what the problem is that people have with it. I'm really only drawing at this point for fun and practice, so why not depict something I find engaging hmmm?

Here you go Daroga...

I finally decided to do one of those things from your journal Nadir.

RULES:
1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. Press forward for each question.
3. Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn’t make sense. NO CHEATING! (Pirate?)
4. Tag 5 people. (Ah, no.)
5. With the answers, give your own comments on how it relates to the questions.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY?
"All Hallow's Eve", Typo O Negative

Way to be a day late.

WILL YOU GET FAR IN LIFE?
"London's Burning", The Clash

BWAHAHAHAAA! I like the way that sounds!!!!

HOW DO YOUR FRIENDS SEE YOU?
"Knights Of Cydonia", Muse

I love this song, but I don't know how to explain a connection other than to give you the opening lines of it...I guess.

"Come ride with me
through the ways of history
I'll show you when god
falls asleep on the job
And how can we win
when fools can be kings"

Go figure. I cant really.

WILL YOU GET MARRIED?
"The Time Warp (Music)", Rocky Horror Picture Show

Hahaha, yeah when time stands still!

WHAT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND'S THEME SONG?
"Near", Death Note Soundtrack

Well, Matsuda dosn't have a themesong, after all.

WHAT IS THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE?
"Egyptian Devil Music", Inkubus Sukkubus

Well, Satan is a lot of fun...Haha.

WHAT WAS HIGH SCHOOL LIKE?
"Love is Dead", Tokio Hotel

This is the only song I wanted to cheat and not put up. Daroga, if you say one godamned word...*dangerous glint*

HOW CAN YOU GET AHEAD IN LIFE?
"Back to Hell", Alkaline Trio

I can just...die? Better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven I suppose.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS?
"Violin Concerto No. 3", Mozart

They have great taste in music. Alternatively, they make Classical badass haha.

WHAT IS IN STORE FOR THIS WEEKEND?
"I Fought the Law", The Clash

Should be another fun weekend!

THE BEST THING TO DESCRIBE YOUR GRANDPARENTS?
"Cemetary Drive", My Chemical Romance

They'll die soon!!! Hahaha! That's fucking EPIC!

HOW IS YOUR LIFE GOING?
"Acid Trip", Rob Zombie

Well, that pretty much sums up how strange my world is.

WHAT SONG WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"Close to Me", The Cure

You know, I guess you could read quite a bit of morbidity in that song. Not my first choice for a funeral song though.

HOW DOES THE WORLD SEE YOU?
"No One Mourns The Wicked", Wicked

This one would have been much better as an answer to the last prompt. Damn.
I guess they see me as an over-the-top musical witch?

WILL YOU HAVE A HAPPY LIFE?
"The Illustrious Client", BBC/Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Wait, isn't that the story where Holmes is attacked and nearly killed? Ah, at least it'll be an interesting life...

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS REALLY THINK OF YOU?
"I'm Not Edible", American McGee's Alice Soundtrack

I should hope so. I mean, I am eatible, but unless you guys turn into zombies, please refrain from canibbalizing me.

DO PEOPLE SECRETLY LUST AFTER YOU?
"Everyone's A Little Bit Racist", Avenue Q

Um...Only people that like mutts?

HOW CAN I MAKE MYSELF HAPPY?
"Head Like A Hole", Nine Inch Nails

Heheheh...Just enjoy being my own evil self. I like this answer too.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR LIFE?
"It Don't Mean A Thing"

Swingdance?! Wilson, no! I don't care if you were in "Swing Kids"!

WILL YOU EVER HAVE CHILDREN?
"Shout At The Devil", Motley Crue

Apparently not unless it's the antichrist.

WHAT SONG WOULD YOU STRIP TO?
"Master Passion Greed", Nightwish

Nothankyouuuuuuu!!!

IF A MAN IN A VAN OFFERED YOU CANDY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
"Killer Queen", Queen

Charm them and offer them caviar and nice perfume?

[THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN REMOVED DUE TO IT'S BEING WEAK]
(But for those of you who are curious and have time to burn, the answer was "Her Portrait in Black", Atreyu)

WHAT IS YOUR DEEP DARK SECRET?
"Bloodline", Slayer

I thought it was no secret I was a bloodrinker? Hahaha.

WHAT IS YOUR MORTAL ENEMY'S THEME SONG?
"To End the Rapture", Avenged Sevenfold

Heheh.

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONALITY LIKE?
"The Man That Knew Too Much", Silverchair

Here's to hoping I suffer from amnesia, because apparently I know too much for my own good. Would you agree?

  • Mood: Doubtful
  • Listening to: Shuffled songs on my iPod
  • Reading: Song titles.

The Victorian Era is rolling over in its grave.

Okay, so I've been coming to terms with the fact that Tim Burton is going to be making an adaptation of Charles' greatest work Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. One would think, given how I love Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands, his art, and Alice, this would be an excellent development. Wrong. Everyt time Mr. Burton discovers some relatively obscure story that has lost popularity in recent times, he, well, Burtonizes it. Suddenly everyone and their grandmother loves that story. Is obsessed with that story. Has always adored it, how can you question their loyalty to it they love it they love it more than you ever did theyknoweverythingaboutititmakestheirLIFEUAAAAAAAAAA! Cue rabid fan mouth foam. Then they forget all about it in six months. This is going to happen to poor Alice.

Now, considering the circumstances, I think I've handled it pretty well. However, I have just learned that Jude-nannysleepingwith-Law and Robert Downey Jr will be in an adaptation of Sherlock Holmes in 2010. Don't get me wrong, Robert Downey Jr is a versatile and talented actor. But is he right to play Holmes? And Jude Law playing Watson pretty much screams impending EPIC FAIL. I just don't want to see the film botched. I'm actually pretty fucking terrified it will be. Satan help us if we end up with another Nigel Bruce-style fiasco in the public perception of Watson for another 50 years.
Plus, there's the whole burst of fandom that will be completely miss the point of the original work, be horribly off in its portrayal, and sputter and die within a matter of weeks.*

Oh, and the fuck you cherry on this shit sundae: rumors of Johnny Depp as, guess who? The Riddler himself in the next Dark Knight movie. One of my favorite actors playing one of my favorite characters, only to suffer the fandom curse.

Just had to put this out there because I don't think I've dreaded the release of a movie this much since Sweeny Todd.

*See Gerard Butler's performance as The Phantom for a very blatant example of this

So, once again...I am scanner-less. Alas, I can only update with iphone pictures that :iconnytegoddess: so generously provided. I promise, as soon as I humanly, inhumanly, undeadly, possibly can, I will get better quality takes of these rather slipshod productions and add even more lovely trash to my gallery.
